Get to know more about our association
Asorebiara was created with the purpose of conserving and protecting mangroves in Costa Rica. We work in the Ara Macao Biological Reserve, where we protect and monitor the ecosystem and endangered species, supporting biodiversity and helping to mitigate climate change.
Our History
Since our foundation, we have promoted the conservation of mangroves through environmentally friendly projects at the mouth of the Grande de Tarcoles River. We focus on working with local communities to promote environmental education and raise awareness of the importance of mangroves for biodiversity.

Our Vision
We envision a future in which mangroves not only serve as a pillar for the biodiversity of our planet but also play a key role in local economies, providing millions of dollars in ecosystem services and resources, thereby strengthening the economy and the communities that depend on them. Our goal is to create a future where mangroves thrive and play a crucial role in climate resilience and community well-being.
Our Mission
Our mission is to conserve and protect mangroves in Costa Rica, recognizing their importance for biodiversity and the fight against climate change. We work on community education projects and collaborate with scientists to ensure the sustainability of these ecosystems. We empower local communities, fostering their participation in mangrove protection and promoting practices that generate both environmental and economic benefits.
